A popular past time for many people who reside or vacation in the Hamptons is boating and fishing. In the few times I have visited, I have always found myself on a boat. I really can’t complain because it is the perfect way to cool yourself off on a scorching hot day. I personally love boating especially on a speedboat because it feels like you are on a roller coaster. The Hamptons experience is truly heightened when you view the bay from a boat.
The Hamptons also offer a rich fishing environment that draws people from all over. The clear water hamlets are home to both freshwater and saltwater fish. The most popular fish are flounder, sea bass and cod. The Long Island oceans are a goldmine for those who seek clams. If you ever get the chance to visit Long Island, ordering clams on the half shell is a MUST.
You do not have to be a seasoned sailor or an experienced fisherman to enjoy the boating and fishing scenes that the Hamptons have to offer. There are fishing charters that bring a group of people out to the open waters to test their luck with a fishing poll. If you are looking to try something new and fishing is something that interests you, the Hamptons will be the perfect vacation spot for you! There are also many places on the island where you can bring a group of people out on a boat ride to explore the ins and outs of the bays.
